Rene Magritte
Magritte was a Belgian Surrealist.
He was born in Belgium in 1898 and he died in 1967.
He started drawing lessons in 1910. His mother drowned herself in a river two years later, and she was supposedly found washed up with a dress over her face. This was thought to have inspired people in Magritte's art whose faces were obscured. His early paintings were impressionistic, and it 1967 he made his first surrealist paining. He also had ties to the communist party.

This is a piece by Matthieu Bourel. This could represent someone's mental state.
This piece is by Hugo Barros. There are two seemingly separate parts of the piece. The people in front seem to be watching the wedding party in the garden. In the back there are dry hills and the planet looks like it is on fire. The purpose of this could be to explain how easy it can be to ignore things when you can not always feel their direct effect on your life.
